Please spread the word.   From the president: "It is the decision of the membership, by a vote of the membership, to change the name of the Association   to the "55th Wing Association". (The decision was official as of 2 April 2010) .... 72% of the membership returned votes and of those, 67% favored changing the Association's name. 44% picked 55th Wing Assn vice 23% for Fightin' 55th.) "I commend the Election Committee for its efforts in conducting this pioneering project. Great care was taken to insure all those things important to such an undertaking were dealt with appropriately." The name change was briefed yesterday at the 55th Wing Staff Meeting to which Wing Commander BGen Shanahan had invited members of the Board of Directors. The announcement will be made again at the Tales of the 55th this Friday, and at the Birthday Ball on Saturday. President Thomas, in his remarks told the 55th Wing senior staff, who, what and why the Association exists, and defined its support and contributions to the Wing. This event kicked off the beginning of Heritage Week for the 55th at Offutt, an unprecedented series of activities to celebrate the history of the Wing culminating with the Tales and the Ball.                                            President Jim Thomas at the Wing staff meeting 5 April. top
