Jim,
Sam is quite excited about the response he has had on his book and I am happy for him.
His book is the result of an effort by me to try to put together a collection of stories and at the time he was the one trying to collect them. The more we talked the more he was interested in doing his own book.

My interest was based on the very positive response I have had in collections of B-52 stories – which I have done under the name of “We Were Crewdogs – The B-52 Collection”. I had hoped that perhaps we might be able to do a similar project with the RC folks.

Since many of the Ravens (at least) were prior B-52 types, I was wondering if it might be appropriate to list the books on the 55th’s site. I am enclosing a document with the information on all the books and the order form for them can be found on the Crewdogs’ site at http://www.wewerecrewdogs.com . Each individual book is $10 plus postage but there are discounts for multiple volumes.

I would be happy to discuss with anyone interested the concept of doing these type of books for the 55th . I have a local printer here and have a very good plan on how to make them cheap for the authors.

As for my own information: I was in the 343rd from 1978 – 1983 as a Raven 2/3 on the V/W Rivet Joint aircraft. I was assigned to the 306th at RAF Mildenhall from 1983 to 1987 in the INV shop and returned to the 55th INV shop from 1987-1988 when I retired from there. I’m currently working at the University of Memphis.
