Jim,
Larry Laflair and I spent two hours today cleaning the moss which was creeping up between many of the bricks on the memorial. We also gave the monument a cursory polishing, to clean the dust/rain streaks. Larry will do more soon to remove the mineral deposits that have baked on. Monument and bricks look "almost" new now.

Our Colorado blue spruce is still looking in good shape and actually has a bunch of pine cones in the tope two feet. No signs of any disease on this one. The museum has trimmed the ground level branches off the tree for the mowing purposes I guess.

As a side note, someone from the museum groundskeeper division came out and questioned us about "what company we worked for" and what we were doing. He could hardly believe we were volunteers. But anyhow it was good to see that they are keeping an eye out for any unusual goings on.
