During a conversation with Burt Barrett he asked if I ever saw a copy of the letter from Sec.of Defense "Donald Rumsfeld" to the Veterans of Cold War Veterans Overflights, my reply was negative. Upon my return home I received a copy from Burt. Since I had never seen same I thought maybe a lot of Crews had also not seen it. I'm enclosing a copy for possible publication in your web site (55srwa)

The letter was read at the "Early Cold War Overflights, 1950-56" Symposium held at the Tighe Auditorium, Defense Intelligence Agency, Washington D.C. on 22-23 February 2001. The letter has been published as part of the Symposium Proceedings by the Government Printing Office in 2003, ISBN # 0-9724322-0-5.

In Sams book starting on page 44 He talks about these missions, I have enclosed a copy of that page showing crews involved.
