Subject: Dinner with the new 55th CC
Ready for posting, Grif.
It was another great intro for the Assn with the latest 55th wing king.
I'm scooping myself here, as this will be in the pending issue of the VO newsletter, but with just one picture.
VO, Max

DINNER WITH THE WING COMMANDER
Members of the Omaha Caucus of the 55th SRW Association feted the newest 55th Wing Commander, Col (BrigGen–sel) James J. Jones at dinner at Gorat’s Steak House in Omaha on the evening of 26 April 2007. He is the seventh wing commander to meet and greet members of the Association in an intimate social setting.

Association President Jim Thomas presided over the event which began with an hour of socializing as Col Jones moved among the group. Harry Tull rang the 55th ceremonial bell to single sit-down for dinner. Also on display during the event was the 55th SRW Association Award for Excellence trophy

After a most excellent dinner, Pres Thomas made remarks welcoming Col Jones, and an around the table introduction of the guests ensued. Thomas then presented a copy of Bruce Bailey’s “We See All” book to Col Jones.

He also received gifts of the Association logo polo shirt and the most recent newsletter. (He was wearing the Association tie).

Col Jones addressed the group and expressed his appreciation for the experience, commitment, and contributions of the 55th SRW Association.
All in all, it was a worthwhile and convivial evening in which Col Jones was further impressed with the dedication that former members of the 55th still have for serving the current active duty wing.
