Subject: Departure of Board Member Don Kelly

If you have not checked the Association web site within the last few weeks, you have missed the article covering the 55th Ops Group farewell for Don Kelly. Let me say to the Board about Don... The farewell, pizza and soda, was his choice and a very fitting farewell to a recon trooper who served the 55th for many years and in the end of his active service in the Wing, truly made a difference where it counts...with the "Crew Dogs".
I thank Don for his leadership.  The example that he provided for the crew members of the 55th Wing will be remembered by the many that he touched, for years to come. He held the legacy together for just a little while longer. Many of us know the courage it took and of the many closed door sessions with other senior wing members it took to  try and keep the train on the tracks. Don has served the 55th SRW Association and the legacy of the Fight'n Fifty Fifth... very well.

He is moving up the hill to Building 500 in some sort of joint assignment, still in the intelligence, survaillance, and reconnaissance(ISR) business, so he will still have an impact on the vital reconnaissance mission of the 55th Wing.

We wish Don and Melinda all the best in this new assignment. I will continue to seek  Don's council in our future Association business as I know that he is eager to continue to contribute to the Association's purposes and to our successes.

A grand Videmus Omnia to Don Kelly.
