Subject: Death of Colonel Grover G. Heiman

Max

I deeply regret having to inform you that my longtime friend and flying partner Colonel Grover G. Heiman died yesterday October 12, 2006, in Washington DC. Grover was 86 years old. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetary with full military honors, on November 22, 2006. Interment will be next to his wife, who pre deceased him.

Internment is delayed because of scheduling of ceremony participants.

Grover was my radar navigator for 5 years on RB-50 aircraft. Sharing a multitude of experiences, we developed a close bonding relationship that extended over a period of 55 years. A thouroughly professional officer, serving in the Pentagon at the time of his retirement. I am now the last living member of our Soviet overflight crew.

All my best to you.

Roy (Pop) Kaden
