ANOTHER TALE OF THE BELL
AND
ONE MORE HOOVER EDIFICE

Immediately after the 55th Wing Birthday Ball, near midnight on 1 April last, nefarious villains bell napped the 55th ceremonial bell and spirited it away for purposes unknown until the summer. Now another chapter in the artifact's travels is written.

On 21 July at the 343rsRS crew lounge in Bldg 497 at Offutt, the bell was returned at a ceremony which coincided with the naming of the area as "Hoover Lounge".

Several members of the Omaha caucus of the Association were invited to witness both events. Max Moore remarked that buildings and such are usually named after the dead and the near-dead, so with Robb Hoover now honored by having two rooms bear his name, that he should have his affairs in order just in case.

Robb, Harry and Max regaled the group with philosophy, witticisms, and yes, bullpuckey, while the crewdogs of today were held in rapt attention.
