Lt. Col.(Retired) Ann C. Carretto
Lt. Col. (Retired) Ann C. Carretto, 83, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2006.
Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Bush officiating. Burial will be at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas at 1:45 p.m. Friday.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:OO - 7:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at North's Memorial Chapel.
Lt. Col. (Retired) Ann C. Carretto was born October 25, 1922 to Joseph and Concetto De Stefano in Summit, New Jersey. She received her Bachelor of Science Nursing degree from University of Omaha in 1962. She married Frank Carretto in October of 1966 in Forest Hills, New York. She served in the United States Air Force from 1952 - 1974. She was stationed Oversees and, in the States in the Air Force Nursing Corp. She Moved to Abilene in 1984. She was a volunteer for Volunteer Services Council for the Abilene State School for five years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
She is survived by her loving husband Frank; two sisters, Louise Delph of East Orange, New Jersey and Josephine Bailey of Tampa, Florida; brother-in-law, Vince Carretto of Long Island, New York; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Wanda Carretto of Tulsa, Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.
