Lt. Col. Lloyd T. Navarro, (USAF Ret.) entered into rest on January 18, 2006 in Universal City, Texas at the age of 73.
He was born October 29, 1932 in Groton, CT to Lauriano and Lillian (Gonella) Navarro. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Larry and Louis Navarro. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Ann Navarro; children, Lt. Col (Select) Lloyd T. Navarro, Jr., US Army (Leslie); Lt. Col. Leslie T. Navarro, USAF Ret. (Tina), Lisa T. NavarroPopper (Charles), Lela T. Navarro; grandchildren Ashleigh Hill, Valarie, Jacob, Matthew and A'Lisa Navarro, Alekzandr and McKenzie Popper; great grandchildren Tessa and Caleb Hill; sisters Lillian Denison and Lorraine Dyson (Bob); brother Linwood Navarro (Barbara); special cousin Agnes O'Donnell (Robert); and many nieces and nephews.
Lloyd attained his BS in Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska, Omaha and a BBA in Accounting/Finance from St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas.
He proudly served our country for over 31 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force. He retired from his second career as an accountant for the City of Austin, Texas.
Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. Friday, January 20 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Selma, Texas with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Selma, Texas. Graveside services will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Assumption Cemetery in Austin, Texas with military honors. Visitation and viewing will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the graveside.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Sharon Wilks (Oncology) and her staff for Lloyd's care and treatment. The family also deeply appreciates the care, love, and concern of the entire Day Surgery staff at Northeast Baptist Hospital. Special thanks goes out to the Christus HomeCare - Santa Rosa hospice for their kindness and support.
