George Marshall Rardin passed away on Friday, May 27, 2005 in Prineville, Oregon. He was 58 years old. Visitation was held from 2 to 5 p.m. yesterday at Whispering Pines Funeral Home. Funeral Services were held on Friday, June 3, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Prineville. Dr. Barry Gridley officiated. Graveside Services with full military honors will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2005 at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Ore.
George was born on April 13, 1947 to Samual J. and Phyllis (Conley) Rardin in Akron, Ohio.
He married Carol Earl on December 6, 1991 in Gatlinburg, Tenn.
Mr. Rardin graduated from Coventry Senior High School in Akron, Ohio then graduated from University of Akron in 1969. He entered the USAF and attended the Officer Candidate School and became a jet pilot. He flew recon in Vietnam from Okinawa. He was a highly decorated officer. He finished his military career as a personal pilot for General George B. Crist and General H. Norman Schwarzkopf. He retired in 1989 from the Air Force. At the time of death, he was employed with PCC Schlosser in Redmond, Ore.
His hobbies included fishing, riding horses, riding his Harley Davidson, reading, woodworking, spending time with his family.
He was a member of Powell Butte Christian Church in Powell Butte, Ore.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Rardin of Prineville, sons Bryon and Heather Rardin of Washington, Penn., Blake and Kristen Rardin of Redmond, Ore. and Stephen Rardin of Barry, England and daughters, Jennifer Rardin of Plattsmouth, Neb., Lindsey Reinarz of Omaha, Neb., Katie and Jeris Schaefer of Ashland, Ore. Rachel Rardin of Barry, England. Mr. Rardin also has three grandchildren, Bryon Rardin Jr., Mathew Rardin and Kaleb Reinarz.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
