Visited the memorial site Sunday for the first time since winter...to make sure nothing had moved [as it did last year due to ice expansion in the joints]. Everything was in place as it should be. However, did find many small weeds creeping up through the bricks and tons of dandelions around the three sides. Not a respectable picture. So Monday morning Larry Laflair and I went out with our own weed killer sprays and worked on the unsightly weeds. We'll be checking the site periodically to make sure the bad stuff doesn't take over, even though we're not the "perpetual care" people...
