306th Strat Wing

"306th Strategic Wing"

306th STRATEGIC WING
Shown is the emblem of the 306th Strategic Wing from RAF Mildenhall which was the parent or host organization for RC-135 deployments to RAF Mildenhall. The 306th was also responsible for the European Tanker Task Force (that's why the refueling boom is on the patch). the patch has been made in various sizes and qualities throughout the years, not only in bright colors but also in subdued colors. The 306th was activated as a Strategic Wing on 15 August 1976 and was stationed at Ramstein AB, Germany before being relocated to RAF Mildenhall on 30 June 1978. again, the patch shown comes out of Andy Hunold's personal collection.

Patch and information submitted by Andy Hunold, MSgt (GEAF) Ret.
