45th RS

"45th RS"
"Sylvester"

45th RECONNAISSANCE SQUADRON
On 1 July 1994, the 24th RS was inactivated and the 45th RS was reactivated in it's place. The current emblem of the 45th dates back to the early 1950's and was approved on 29 December 1952 and shows Sylvester the cat with a coonskin cap, a camera around his neck while holding a map in his right hand and a Kentucky rifle in his left hand. Information courtesy of Major Greg Ogletree (USAF, Ret.) while the illustrated patch comes out of MSgt Andy Hunold's (GEAF, Ret.) personal collection.

Patch and information submitted by Andy Hunold, MSgt (GEAF) Ret.
