A scan of the 6 SRW Tactics patch I picked up many years ago
at a patch show in the States. Although not exactly a 55th SRW patch it neatly
shows a top view of an RC-135S COBRA BALL aircraft assigned to the 6th SRW's
24th SRS, superimposed on a Russian red star and one can easily identify the
right black wing! Unfortunately I don't know who designed the patch. I picked it
up sometime in 1989 or 1990 at a patch show in the States and it falls in the
same time frame that the 6 SRW and 24 SRS where active and flying out of Eielson
and Shemya and carried the "SRW" and "SRS" designation respectively. From what I
could find out it belonged to the TACTICS DIVISION of the 6th STRATEGIC
RECONNAISSANCE WING. This is the only patch of this kind I have ever seen. Maybe
some former 55 SRW or 6 SRW member knows more about it.
