38th SRS HOG HEAVEN
This patch was the unofficial patch for 38th aircrews deployed to Kadena AB, Okinawa for a TDY with the 376th Strategic Wing. It shows the famous "hog" sitting on top of a Japanese tori gate. That tori gate is the sacred gate to a shinto shrine that is the Japanese symbol for heaven. Besides the 38th SRS HOG HEAVEN patches, there were HOG HEAVEN patches for the 82nd SRS and the 376 SW DOR as well. The patch is of typical local manufacture and of the similar shape and size as the other HOG HEAVEN patches. Information courtesy of Major Greg Ogletree (USAF, Ret.) while the illustrated patch comes out of MSgt Andy Hunold's (GEAF, Ret.) personal collection.

Patch and information submitted by Andy Hunold, MSgt (GEAF) Ret.
