55 Honor Guard

"55th Wing Honor Guard"

55th Wing Honor Guard
This is a new emblem for the 55th Wing Offutt AFB Honor Guard. The blue background, red and yellow lines refer to the 55th Wing emblem while the tab spells out Offutt AFB Honor Guard. Unfortunately it is unknown who designed this patch but it first showed up in collector's circles in early 2001. This is a well made and fully embroidered emblem and one of the very few Honor Guard patches. The patch belongs to the personal collection of Andy Hunold (MSgt, GEAF, ret.) who received it in a trade from Mr. Victor Meir Mendiguchia, Spain, in early 2001.

Patch and information submitted by Andy Hunold, MSgt (GEAF) Ret.

Subject: Offutt Honor Guard Patch

Hello,
Regarding the picture of the Offutt AFB Honor Guard Patch in your gallery, it was designed in Summer of 1998 by Captain Larry Hutson, then assigned to USTRATCOM and detailed to the 55th SVS to serve as Honor Guard Commander. I was the Honor Guard Deputy Commander at the time and I had Aeroemblem of Wichita Falls, TX computerize and mill Larry's artwork into a patch.
