George was a friend of all the crewmembers who traversed Athens in the 70s and 80s... and into the 90's when he opened his other shop on Crete. His shop was a regular stop for crewmembers shopping in the Old Market or Plaka in downtown Athens. They could always stop in for a free beer and conversation...even if you didn't buy anything.
