MEMO FOR RECORD
2007 Hall of Fame Selections
The Hall of Fame Selection committee met on 26 January 2007 to pick the inductees for 2007. The Selection Committee was made up of seven members, including the Assn Awards Chairman, the Chairman of the Screening Committee and five other Omaha area based members. The group included retired and active duty personnel, members of the BoD, a member of the Hall of Fame, and the 55th Wing Vice Commander.
It was the decision of the committee that Colonel John E. Drost, USAF Retired, and the late Major Eddie “Mitch” Phillips, USAF Retired, are to be inducted into the 55th Wing Hall of Fame for 2007.
President and Committee Chair announced in an e-mail to the Board of Directors on 2 February that the process was complete. He gave a synopsis of each man’s service to the Wing during their careers and after retirement where the actions impacted the missions of the 55th. He also asked for concurrence of the committee’s action from the BoD as per the selection process procedure.
Ensuing e-mails from 2 – 5 February indicated concurrence by the Board.
Thus, the inductee selections were approved.
President Thomas then informed BGen Jonathan George, 55th Wing Commander, on 6 February 2007 of the selections.
Respectfully submitted,
Max R. Moore
