MEMO FOR RECORD
55th Fighter Group Monument, Wormingford, UK
On 1 June, 2006, President Jim Thomas provided to the Association Board of Directors background information regarding monuments being dedicated at bases in the United Kingdom where the 55th Fighter Group had operated in WWII.
After consultations with Ed Giller, President of the 55th Fighter Group Assn, and POCs in the Fighter Group Assn, he proposed that the 55th SRW Association participate in the Wormingford monument project with financial support via a $1000 donation. He followed with rationale/justification for same.
Subsequently, also on 1 June 2006, Board member Michael Cook moved that the 55th SRWA donate $1000 in support of the dedication of the 55th Fighter Group Monument (at Wormingford, UK). Seconded by Bill Ernst.
On 2 June, the President called for voting. In ensuing e-mails from 2-5 June, the votes from the Board members were unanimous in favor of the motion.
Respectfully submitted,
(signed)
Max R. Moore, Secretary
55th SRW Association
