MEMOR FOR RECORD REGARDING
PURCHASE OF 55SRW ASSN FLAGS
On 4 November 2002 Errol Hoberman proposed the Association acquire a flag to replace the one which was pilfered in September 1996. The ensuing discussion via e-mails led to the decision on the official Association logo.
Subsequently, a consensus of the Board of Directors decided on the design for the official logo (dual shield) on a blue field with gold fringe for the official flag, and that an additional flag be procured with only the 55th SRW shield on it. (17 November 2002)
Assn President Ernst authorized Board of Director member Jim Maloney to order the two flags while on a trip to Osan, Korea. (25 Nov 02)
The flags were purchased for $345 and shipped to Maloney upon completion. They were received in mid- December and were turned over to the president. Three flagstaffs (sectional with top ornaments), were also procured one each for the Association flag, the 55th SRW flag and for an American flag donated by the Assn. president.
